FAVORITE DEPUTY
In 2021, we started a new tradition. If you haven’t noticed, there are a lot of ties to Toy Story with our event. With that we have decided to start our event every year with honoring someone who has gone above and beyond with their support of the Blaise Games, and they will be recognized as “Our Favorite Deputy” of the year and our honoree will have the privilege of revealing what we consider our “Olympic torch”, Woody Boots with Blaise's name on the bottom.
2021
Our favorite deputy for 2021 could not be present because he resides on the other side of the planet. But even this huge distance could not stop this person from making such a big impact on the event. Reaching all the way from China, constant text messages and e-mails were received, looking for ways to make it a success. Whenever something was needed, there was never hesitation. I’ve had a vision of what the Blaise Games can become, and we were able to take a huge step forward because of the support of this man. If you realize some improvements we’ve made, this man is to thank. His contributions will be seen in every Blaise Games to come. I cannot show enough gratitude for the support that he has given, and I hope that he can join us in person for a Blaise Games in the near future. Please join me in thanking Our Favorite Deputy for 2021, Mr. Greg Savarese.
2022
This year we would like to recognize someone who has been here since the very beginning. Even before the 1st Blaise Games took place, he was the support I needed to help get this event off the ground. He’s always asking if anything is needed leading up to the big day, and every year he’s here the night before, helping get things set up long after the sun has set, only to arrive back in the early morning on a few hours of sleep to make sure nothing else needs to be done. When everyone goes home, he’s one of the last people here to help load the truck and will then follow me back to the storage container to help take everything right back off without even asking. Each year, I don’t even have to reach out, he just wants to know what time to be there, and he did this again with twin girls who are only a couple months old.
He does all of this without wanting any recognition or asking for anything in return. He has one of the biggest hearts out of anyone I know, and this event could not happen each year without him by my side. So please join me in giving him a huge thank you for all that he has done and continues to do, and honoring Our Favorite Deputy of 2022, my brother, Mr. Billy Kerins.

2023
To give you a little backstory on how the Blaise Games came to be, in 2013 I was invited to take part in an event known as the Leisure Sports Festival. Now the day of the event that year was the due date of my first born child, so I had to miss it. But a few years later I decided to form a team with family and friends, and it was an absolute blast, and we knew we would be participants every year. Now every year we attended, there was member on the team that would constantly tell me, “Joe, you could run an event like this, you should do it”. Well, after Blaise’s family formed the For Infinity & Beyond Foundation, I knew that I wanted to do something to help raise money for the charity, and he was in my ear again telling me that a big event like this could be done. Outside of motivating me to move ahead with the plans, he has been here every year to lend a hand in setting up and staying late to pack everything up. Outside of his help, he’s been my partner in crime in taking down Leisure Sports events for years, and I do want to recognize his achievements as a Blaise Games Competitor. He currently sits atop the Blaise Games Lifetime Leaderboard with 109 points, which is impressive because he could not participate in 2020. He has won Bottle Bash, Beer Pong, Cornhole, & Connect Four Twice. And in 2021 he led Venom to a team title while being the overall individual champion and set a single year point record of 71 points.
It is with great honor that I get to thank him today for all that he has done and continues to do. Please join me in honoring this year’s Favorite Deputy, Mr. Stephen M. Fromhold

2024
This Year’s Favorite Deputy has been with us since the very beginning, participating in all five Blaise Games. His dedication and sportsmanship are exemplified by his achievements on the field. He was the Connect 4 champion in 2021 and a key member of Team Venom, when they won the overall team title in both 2020 and 2021.
But he is not being honored this year solely for his accomplishments on the field. It’s his unwavering commitment, generosity, and willingness to help that truly set him apart. Every year, he shows up the night before to help with setup, arrives early on the day of the event, and is the last to leave, ensuring everything is taken care of until there is nothing left to do.
Again this year, he was quick to offer his assistance, making sure I knew he was available if needed. From loading the truck to helping with the setup, he has been an invaluable asset and a true friend of the Blaise Games.
I wish I could do more to express my gratitude for all you have done and continue to do. Your dedication and support mean the world to us.
Please join me in giving a warm round of applause as we say thank you to this year's Favorite Deputy, Patrick Keefe!
